The Nasdaq Composite breached the 7,000 mark for the first time on Monday in a broad rally that’s being powered by expectations that Republicans will be able to push through their controversial tax overhaul this week.
The technology heavy index jumped as much as 1 per cent to 7,003.04. The gain comes less than eight months after the Nasdaq crossed the 6,000 milestone and takes the index’s gains so far this year to over 30 per cent.
