ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Jan. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Asta Funding, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASFI) (“Asta” or the “Company”) announced today that on January 18, 2018, it received a Delinquency Compliance Plan Alert Letter (the “Letter”) from Nasdaq (“Nasdaq”) stating that the Company was not in compliance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5250(c)(1), because it has not timely filed its Annual Report on Form 10-K (“Form 10-K”) for the period ended September 30, 2017.
In the Letter, Nasdaq indicated that the Company has 60 calendar days to submit a plan to regain compliance. If such a plan is timely submitted by the Company, the Nasdaq staff may grant the Company up to 180 calendar days from the due date of the Form 10-K, or until July 16, 2018, to regain compliance. The Company does not currently expect that the submission of a compliance plan will be necessary because the Company anticipates that it will file the Form 10-K prior to the expiration of the 60-day period. The Company expects that it will fully regain compliance with the Nasdaq continued listing requirements upon the filing of the Form 10-K. As previously stated, the Company will file the Form 10-K as soon as reasonably practicable.
