no 15/18 Nasdaq Commodities confirms intention to migrate the freight product suite to Nasdaq Futures (NFX)

As previously communicated to our clients in letterform, Nasdaq Commodities intends to migrate the freight product suite to our U.S.-based futures exchange, Nasdaq Futures, Inc. (NFX) on June 15, 2018.

This is part of Nasdaq’s goal to improve client needs and efficiencies, and part of our commitment to cultivating and expanding the Freight market and boosting market liquidity globally.

Our goal is to dual list the tanker futures on NFX from April 27, 2018, while dry freight futures and options will be listed on NFX in correlation with the targeted migration date, pending testing at Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) and regulatory approvals.

As per the above, NFX has started the initial process of listing the tanker freight and dry freight contracts on NFX and has initiated discussions with key stakeholders for the development and response of client requirements.

More details about the migration time line and events will be communicated in the coming weeks and months.

NFX and OCC bring a competitive mix of products, fees, innovative technology, and clearing services designed to meet the needs of ambitious traders. As an expansion of our existing commodities business, NFX currently offers key energy and commodity benchmarks that allow market participants to further diversify their portfolios while providing a valuable hedging tool. NFX offers:

  • Energy and commodity futures in oil, gas, U.S. power and ferrous products
  • A highly competitive fee structure
  • Cost-effective horizontal clearing model operated by the OCC
  • Open and neutral access via standardized APIs and leading front-end providers
